I’m Dr. Kaye Manson Jeter, Ph.D., a motivational speaker, author, and consultant, passionate about helping retirees and soon-to-be retirees navigate the complexities of life’s next great adventure: retirement.
After a fulfilling career in higher education as a college dean and professor, I retired at the height of my professional journey, unprepared for the profound changes retirement would bring. Like many, I assumed retirement would be a seamless transition. Instead, I was met with challenges—both personal and professional—that reshaped my life. Losing the daily structure of work and the companionship of colleagues left me searching for purpose and direction.
Over time, I discovered that retirement is not just an end but an opportunity for growth, exploration, and reinvention. My journey included becoming a Del Mar Encore Fellow, volunteering, and serving as a board member for the Association of Retirement Organizations in Higher Education (AROHE). Through these roles, I’ve had the privilege of guiding others as they find their footing in this transformative phase of life.
As the author of Transitioning to Retirement: You Can’t Ride a Camel for the Rest of Your Life, I share practical insights and personal stories to help retirees embrace change, build supportive networks, and create purposeful retirement plans. My book and this blog aim to empower you with the tools and inspiration to turn your retirement into a fulfilling safari of self-discovery, growth, and joy.
I understand the unique challenges retirees face because I’ve lived them. Whether it’s finding meaningful engagement, navigating family dynamics, or maintaining health and well-being, I offer real-life strategies tailored to help you thrive.
Join me as we explore the possibilities and tackle the challenges of retirement together. Let’s transform this chapter of life into a vibrant, purposeful journey filled with passion, connection, and possibilities.
