Educator. Author. Advocate for Lifelong Learning.
For over five decades, I have been dedicated to the art and science of education. My career has spanned teaching, counseling, educational leadership, and even law—each experience reinforcing my passion for helping students and educators succeed. I have worked in classrooms, trained teachers, advised policymakers, and developed strategies to improve learning outcomes for students of all ages. My journey has given me a deep understanding of what works in education, and my books reflect this knowledge.
A Passion for Teaching and Educational Excellence
With degrees in education from Central State University, Michigan State University, and Wayne State University—along with post-doctoral studies at Marquette University and Bryn Mawr—I have spent my life studying how children learn and how teachers can be more effective. My work as a dean, professor, and director of teacher education programs has allowed me to mentor thousands of future educators, helping them understand not only what to teach but how to teach in ways that inspire lifelong learning.
Recognizing the struggles teachers face in the classroom, I wrote "Teacher, Teacher, What Does Your Garden Grow?" and "Master Teacher Is: Ten Attributes that Identify the Master Teacher in Today’s Classroom." These books were designed to uplift and equip educators with the tools to foster success. I believe that great teachers don’t just instruct; they cultivate curiosity, confidence, and creativity in their students. These books remain relevant today as guides for teachers who seek to create impactful learning environments.
Bringing Lessons to Life for Children
My passion for education and storytelling has now led me to write for an even younger audience. The Star Chronicle Series was created to help children embrace wonder, discovery, and self-belief.
Each of these books was written to teach, inspire, and encourage—just as I have done throughout my career. My goal is to engage young minds, spark their imagination, and provide parents and educators with meaningful stories that open the door to learning.
I invite you to explore my books, both past and present, and discover the power of education and storytelling. Whether you are a teacher, parent, or someone who believes in the importance of nurturing young minds, my work is here to support you. Let’s continue the journey of learning together!
